What this site collects, why, and who else sees it. It is short because the site does little: there are no accounts, no payments and no advertising.
Who we are
This site is operated by Kookyi (“we”, “us”). If you want anything on this page explained, or you want your data removed, write to hello@kookyi.com.
What we collect
If you join the mailing list
We collect your email address, and your first name if you give it. It is held by Kit (kit.com), the service that runs our mailing list. Joining is double opt-in: you are not on the list until you click the link in the confirming email. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you.
If you send us a form
The creator, investor, partnership and contact forms collect what you type into them — typically your name, email address, organisation and your message. Each submission is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, and emailed to the relevant inbox through Resend. We keep submissions so we can answer you and so a message is not lost if an email goes astray.
We also record, alongside the submission, the browser user-agent string,
the country our host reports, and any campaign tags (utm_source
and similar) present in the address you arrived on. That is how we tell
which pages actually bring people to us.
If you just read the site
We do not require an account and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The experience page stores one flag in your browser’s session storage so it does not show you the same prompt twice; it is gone when you close the tab and it never leaves your device.
Who else sees your data
Running a website means other companies handle some of it. These are all of them:
- Cloudflare — hosts and serves the site. Sees the requests your browser makes, including your IP address.
- Supabase — stores form submissions.
- Resend — delivers form submissions to our inboxes.
- Kit — runs the mailing list.
- Hostinger — hosts our email.
- Bunny.net — serves the video on the site.
- Google Fonts — serves the typeface. Loading a font from Google means Google sees your IP address when the page loads.
- YouTube — if a trailer is embedded from YouTube, Google receives data about that playback under its own terms.
- Google Analytics — we may use it to count visits. It is off unless a measurement ID is configured, and it is never used to identify you personally.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone outside this list.
How long we keep it
Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. Form submissions: while they are useful to the conversation they belong to, and no longer than three years, after which we delete them. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@kookyi.com and we will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
When this page changes we update the date at the top. The site is in active development, so expect it to change as things are added.
